Meet The Managers

We are a dedicated team which strives to provide success to our clients in regards to all their accountancy needs. Our team is very close-knit and ensures that a unified support is provided to you whenever you need it. With expertise covering all aspects of accountancy, taxation and business advisory services, we are well placed to take a holistic view to planning for the future as well dealing with specific matters.

Steve Nichols

Managing Director

Experience/specialisms: Steve has worked for many years with family and owner managed businesses where he establishes strong, longstanding relationships. Clients always know he is on their side. He specialises in tax planning, business development and succession/retirement issues. 

In addition, Steve advises a number of wealthy individuals on tax planning, estate planning and inheritance tax issues.

Steve is the company’s senior statutory auditor. He also works on charities and trusts. He is a specialist in property taxes.

Qualifications: He is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Tax Advisor.

Hobbies: Watching football, playing golf, and spending time with family and friends.

Shadmir Baig


Experience/specialisms: Shadmir is a partner at Nichols & Co and has extensive experience dealing with clients’ tax and accounting affairs. Shadmir ’s portfolio includes owner-managed businesses as well as  international trading groups. He has particular expertise in the health and legal sector and manages a portfolio of clients in both.

He specialises in cloud-accounting and enjoys advising on start-ups and tax-efficient structures for clients of all shapes and sizes from different sectors.

He has the ability to explain complex issues in a simple and straightforward manner and maintains a personal and trusted relationship with his clients.

Shadmir also has substantial experience in dealing with and advising on tax matters relating to non-residents as well as trusts and estates.

Qualifications: Fellow of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, MSc in Accounting, BSc (Hons) in Accounting.

Hobbies: Playing cricket, watching tennis, snooker and football, and spending time with family and friends.

Debra Williams

Client Manager

Experience/specialisms: Debra is a client manager. She has over 20 years of experience working with owners of small to medium size family run businesses. Debra is a trusted advisor to many clients. She has a particular interest in taxation and works closely with clients to provide a broad range of advice, including minimising tax liabilities for both individuals and companies, VAT advice and Capital Gains Tax planning.

Debra’s specialisms include Tax Planning, and working with Medical Practitioner clients.

Qualifications: She is a Chartered Certified Accountant and a Chartered Tax Advisor.

Hobbies: Loves travelling, and cooking, but mainly looking after her grandchildren.

Christina Ranson

Client Manager

Chris is a client manager. Her portfolio consists of a range of  Limited companies sole traders, and partnerships .

Chris is also the payroll manager and supervises several staff accountants.

Experience/specialisms: 26 years experience working within private practice and 18 years experience working in the finance/accounts departments within various industries.

Specialising in Sage computerised accounts and payroll, advising clients within the Construction Industry and assisting clients with tax credit claims, sage bookkeeping and payroll training.

She is very proactive ensuring clients receive the best accounting and taxation advice.

Our clients often comment on Chris’s ability to explain things in plain language.

Qualifications: Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians & Certified Accounting Technicians.

Hobbies: Travel, reading, and cookery.

Danny Woodham

Client Manager

Experience/specialisms: Danny is a client manager. He is a Chartered Certified Accountant, having achieved fellowship in 2020.

He has been an accountant for over almost twenty years and has experience in all sectors.

Danny joined the Nichols & Co team in 2008, bringing his knowledge of accounting, and quickly established himself as an efficient client manager gaining a wealth of knowledge in essential tax and accounting matters.

He now looks after clients ranging from the individual ‘one-man bands’ that require effective straight forward tax planning all the way through to international company’s that require a whole financial and audit package.

Danny is always available at the end of the phone or an email and offers that personal but professional service that our clients look for.

Qualifications: Chartered Certified Accountant.

Hobbies: Danny’s hobbies include playing for amateur football and basketball teams, as well as regularly taking part in organised cycling events, including the London to Brighton Bike Ride.

Ridwana J.Khan

Client manager

Experience/specialisms: Ridwana has worked in general accountancy practice for over 20 years. Over the years, Ridwana has dealt with clients of varying sizes and backgrounds, helping them grow their businesses. She has also sat on the board and worked with various companies including an international group of companies as their Finance Director. She has a range of experience dealing with compliance services, carrying out audit, advisory services and training / coaching. She has experience working with high-net-worth individuals, owner managed businesses, estates and trusts. Her forte is tax planning and she has managed the personal tax portfolio of numerous clients of all sizes. She enjoys building rapport with clients and helping them solve any of their business problems. Studying for an MBA has been key for her to view her clients’ management issues from different perspectives. She is also fluent in French.

Qualifications:  Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and Masters in Business Administration (MBA)Hobbies: Ridwana has lots of interests, including photography, reading, cinema and keeping fit. Originally born in the paradise island of Mauritius, she has a passion for travelling and trying food from different cultures. She also loves baking, which her friends and family enjoy the most! She is also involved in various voluntary work and fundraising for charities.

Debbie Matthews


Experience/specialisms: Has worked in an administrative role for many years and has been with Nichols & Co for 15 years. Debbie has a cheerful and friendly manner and is the first point of contact to many of our clients.

Debbie has spent many years working in financial institutions in London in different types of administrative positions. Debbie liaises with existing and potential clients on various matters and looks after the day to day needs of the accountancy staff and managers.

Hobbies:  Generally keeping fit by running (slowly!), yoga, and spending quality time with family and friends.
